This African American Studies Course will serve as an introduction to African American history, culture, and contributions to the world. Participants will engage in thought provoking conversation and review literature that highlights themes such as the African diaspora, the transatlantic slave trade, cultural expression, resistance, and the rise of African Americans to political power.
This course is designed for community members with a willingness to learn, speak truth to power, and think critically. Presented by Mr. Ra Alim Shabazz, founder of Nubian Tutoring Institute LLC and hosted by The Alexandria People's Assembly
Registration is Limited to 20 Participants. This is a 10 Week Course presented in a HYBRID format. Classes are held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00pm-730pm
